OnePlus 6 teaser posted on Wednesday suggests the company will be repositioning the Alert Slider on its next Android flagship, with the image seen above showing the upcoming device beneath the OnePlus 5T.
The signature sound profile switch that’s been part of the OEM’s products since the August of 2015 and the OnePlus 2 is traditionally situated alongside the left edge of OnePlus’s smartphones when they’re looked from upfront but will presumably sit on the opposite side of the OnePlus 6, as suggested by the fact that it cannot be seen in the newly shared teaser.
While largely unchanged since its inception, the next iteration of the company’s Alert Slider will receive at least one notable addition in the form of a “slide to focus” feature which OnePlus first teased last week.
Not many details about the functionality have yet been revealed, with the OEM only hinting at a physical focusing mechanism meant to provide users with more options when shooting images using the OnePlus 6.
The upcoming device is also expected to be the firm’s third offering with a dual-camera setup, albeit one that will now be centered near the top of its rear plate instead of residing it its top left corner like it did on the previous two generations of OnePlus-made flagships, according to recent leaks.
The newly revealed teaser image also indicates that the OnePlus 6 will once again have antenna bands running alongside the top of its rear plate, much like its predecessor. Compared to the OnePlus 5T, the handset will have less aggressively curved corners, as suggested by the same shot.
The device is rumored to be scheduled for a May 5 announcement and should start retailing shortly following its official unveiling.
