Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man 4th instalment isn’t in the cards. Downey will appear in Captain America: Civil War, which is what he described as “Iron Man 4.”
Captain America: Civil War debuts in theaters on May 6. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 is slated to release to theaters on May 4, 2018, Part 2 following on May 9, 2019.
The Actor is signed on through Avengers: Infinity War. In Discussion with USA Today, the actor said after Captain America: Civil War “it’s back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes.”
In September of 2014, Downey Jr. said there wasn’t a 4th Iron Man film in the works, but backtracked on that during a television appearance in October of 2014.
“I know there’s gonna be a bunch more Marvel movies and…they have big ideas of how to do it best, and we’re in the middle of negotiations, and blah blah blah…” Downey Jr. said.
Executive producer Jeremy Latcham has said the film won’t be “the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but [he] think[s] it is the end of part of it for sure.”
Whether it’s the end of Tony Stark or Iron Man, we’ll have to wait and see. Undoubtedly big majority of fans love that character of Downey Jr.
